When Is The Colorado Comic Convention?
To our fans, vendors, and artists,
No doubt by now you have all been keeping a close eye on the COVID-19/Corona Virus situation that is sweeping across the world. We have been working closely with the Colorado Springs Expo Center in keeping an eye on the upcoming show and how this could effect it, and on Friday Governor Polis of Colorado issued a declaration that can seen in detail here:
The result left us with no choice, the Mighty Con Colorado Show is officially postponed and we are now working with the convention center to find a new date.
For fans who have purchased tickets, we will be offering either a refund or of course honoring the tickets for the new date (due to severe extenuating circumstances, refunds may take up to 30 days). We hoped to have a new date by the time this notification was issued, but are still working with the convention center and should have one soon. For our vendors and artists, we have a few options:
A: A refund on your space (as with tickets, refunds may take up to 30 days)
B: Your purchase of space will be valid on the new show dates, or
C: Your purchase will be credited at 1.5x it's value at any of our upcoming shows.
We decided to offer option C after a long discussion with other vendors/artists and some other promoters. It's no secret that hundreds of shows across the country are cancelling, and that this will be devastating on the entire industry. What's more, many artists and vendors rely entirely on these shows for their income, and this situation is putting them in some very dire straights. We're all on this ship together, there's no two ways about it. Many of you may have trouble waiting until this fall to set up at shows and start your revenue stream again, and so if we can get you back in front of a crowd this summer once the ban on crowds have been lifted and give you some more space to bring more product, we're going to do it. This is't the time to mince words, our shows are built on the backs of the amazing vendors, artists, and creators that set up at them and we need to know that when 2021 gets here, you'll still be going strong. We may not be able to do much, but at least can try to help make sure that you don't have to starve until September or October before doing conventions again.
Please let us know which you'd like by replying here, or by contacting us at MightyConVendors@gmail.com
and we'll do everything we can. And please, stay safe out there, this industry is about to go through one of its most difficult trials ever and we're going to need you when we get to the other side.
